This hotel is located on Calle Aribau in an area known locally as the Gaixample,
which is a liberal part of Barcelona where gay people are openly welcome.
The proprietors of the hotel have realised through their own experiences
that good quality “gay friendly hotels” are difficult to encounter
in Europe so they established a hotel to help meet the needs of their clientele.
There’s nothing different about the hotel apart from the attitude
of the staff towards their gay clients and we were pleased to find they
have disabled access. On entering the lobby there are four steps down to the reception but to overcome this problem there is a marble platform lift. |
There is also a small bar, boutique and lifts to the upper floors next to
the reception area. The room feels light, airy and minimalist
with a double bed, accessible wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom
is equipped with WC and bath which have grab rails. The sink also has space
underneath for wheelchair users. This is a liberal hotel for people that are not necessarily gay but have an open mind and tolerant of other peoples way of life. It’s close to the centre of Barcelona and there are many lively and different bars and restaurants in the area. |
